This 4-star hotel seems to inhabit 2 worlds. In front, is the British Museum and the hurly-burly of bustling London. To the rear, there is a serene private garden, cut off from the city by a rectangle of fine Georgian townhouses. Between the 2, lies the Montague, an intriguing blend of up-to-the-minute city vibrancy and old-world Bloomsbury calm. Step off a busy London street into a world of stylish and well-ordered peace. Within moments you can be at a West-End show, shopping, or taking a walk around the city’s many parks and museums, the choice is yours. Where else can you stay in this much luxury, at a modest price? The hotel’s convenient location also makes it a wonderful base for travellers arriving from Europe via the Eurostar and the refurbished St Pancras station. This hotel truly deserves it's 4-star deluxe status. Guest services and enjoyment come first every time and nothing is too much trouble to assist guests, from the welcoming pot of tea on arrival to 24-hour room service. This is hospitality at its most inviting. You can bring your children and your pets, and they will feel as special as you do. In fact, the hotel goes out of its way to delight younger visitors, giving them their own special bathrobes and slippers, and folding their bathroom towels into magical elephants and swans. The Montague boasts 2 restaurants, a bar, a lounge and 2 conservatories as well as the Wood Deck for alfresco dining and summer barbecues. Live jazz is on offer twice a week. Grand celebrations demand a venue that does justice to the event; somewhere steeped in style, filled with history, and blessed with superb views. That location is The Montague on the Gardens, a superb venue for fairytale events such as weddings, birthdays, anniversaries and cocktail parties. You can enjoy a formal banquet in the Great Russell Suite or a sizzling barbecue on the hotel’s Wood Deck, overlooking the private gardens. The Wood Deck is also ideal for open-air summer cocktail parties. Whatever the nature of your event, a dedicated events co-ordinator will help assist you with every detail of the planning.
Group Bookings and Cancellation Policy: Please note that for bookings for 10 or more people, cancellations must be received at least 4 weeks before the date of arrival. In the event of a later cancellation in breach of this policy, the hotel will charge an amount equivalent to 100% of the total cost of the booking as a cancellation or no-show charge.
The hotel offers a selection of places to eat, drink and relax with friends, with somewhere to suit every mood and every time of day. The Blue Door Bistro offers a menu featuring both modern British cuisine, as well as traditional classic dishes. Afternoon tea in the hotel’s conservatory attracts local residents, as well as hotel guests. They come to catch up with the day’s news and to demolish a generous plate of scones, served with home-made strawberry jam and Devonshire clotted cream. During the summer, guests head for the refreshing drinks and sizzling barbecues out on the Terrace and Wood Deck. These are also popular spots for light summer lunches. The cosy Terrace Bar is famous for its cocktails. This is the place to sink into a comfortable leather sofa and soak up the live music that plays every weekday evening from 19:00 to 22:00.
